When she lived in Japan, Asian painting first claimed Mary Jo.  
While there she studied weaving with a "National Treasure".  Her
love of Asian textiles is echoed in the color and texture of her
paintings.  She exhibits in Coronado, Balboa Park, Quail Gardens,
American Friends' Service Committee and UCSD.  Mary Jo's
work
s hang in homes in West Los Angeles, Fresno, Berkeley and
Santa Rosa and throughout San Diego County, where residents
speak of a newly felt calm and serenity.
The calligrahy means, "New Moon",
which is how her paintings are signed.
